Women in STEM scholarships are for students studying science, technology, engineering, and math.
Some are for any STEM student, while others need specific qualifications.
Women tend to shy away from STEM because there’s a stereotype that such studies are for men.
Well, that’s about to change for good. The British Council has set up the Scholarships for Women in STEM 2024.

General Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be a woman.
- You can study in the UK from September/October 2024–2025.
- You need money help based on what the UK university says.
- You need a degree like the one needed for the course you want to do.
- You must speak English well enough for the course.
- You should have worked in the field or liked it a lot.
- You must agree to stay in touch after the scholarship ends.
- You shouldn’t have been to the UK before.
- You must go back to your country after the scholarship ends.
What Will Disqualify You:
- You can’t be British either.
- You or someone close to you can’t work for certain UK government things or the British Council.
- You can’t get money from another place for your UK study.
- You can’t have got a UK scholarship before.
What’s Included in the Scholarship:
- All the money for your course is paid.
- You get money each month for a year, and some for where you live.
- Your travel, visa, and health costs are paid.
- If you need it, you get some money back for the English test.
How to Apply:
- You ask the universities for the form.
- You can ask from Brazil and Mexico about 4 UK universities each.
- Check what you need to do and when to send it on the uni website.
- You can send more than one form, but you need to do one for each uni.
- Deadlines change, so look careful.
- Check if your things match the rules before you send them.
- After you send it, the uni will tell you if you can come.
